Spinifex is a furniture design and manufacture initiative based in London, UK. Spinifex uses recycled and organic materials to promote a greater awareness of green issues and fair trade within the design, manufacture life span and disposal of a product. Spinifex uses seven key words:
RECYCLE use reclaimed or reprocessed material.
SUSTAIN Use materials that can be produced and disposed of with minimal impact
LIFE CYCLE Within the design consider the manufacture, life span and disposal of the object.
ETHICS Produce locally or trade fairly from overseas.
ENVIRONMENT Consider the global village before taking action.
STIMULATE Dont keep it to yourself pass on the knowledge.
THINK Find your own shade of green!
Trying to free itself from the stigma attached to eco-friendly goods as being inferior, Spinifex designs interesting think-for-yourself furniture. The focus is on the home and how we as consumers fill it with reproduced ideas. In reply to this Spinifex invents new ideas to solve modern living.
