More winners on Mimimyne – two bags and two Tshirts!

Posted under Mimimyne eco friendly products news

I’ve been busy sending out prizes – first of all, two lucky visitors to the Bristol:Twestival got bags designed exclusively for Mimimyne by Carryabag with our logo very attractively stamped on to the Fair Trade, organic calico bags by Sally Walton. These were our donations to charity:water which is the charity that the Twestival supported – and raised £1482.10 for! Secondly, I’ve also sent two Mimimyne T shirts to the two winners of my competition held with the Primary Times, Mrs S Acton and Mrs B Peek. Mrs Acton sent a message to say “Prize safely received. Thank you very much, it’s lovely. Daughter will be delighted when she gets home from school” and Mrs Peek said she was “so excited at winning can’t wait to see my granddaughter in it”! It’s really nice to know that winners enjoy their prizes :) I will post more info when I do more competitions, so keep an eye on the blog, or you can even subscribe to it (that’s the little square orange button up at the top right hand side of this page saying “Live feed”, folks).

New Organic Wool Baby Toy Range at Mimimyne!

Posted under Mimimyne eco friendly products news

Just blogging about the new range of organic wool baby toys designed and hand knitted by Kathy Broussart at Cosytots Organics. Cosytots Organics came to life when she was tidying her daughter’s bedrooms and noticed the dust flying up from their neglected synthetic soft toys. She thought to herself “This is not what I want for my child”. She still has the teddy her parents gave her on the day she was born (Kathy is originally from Normandy but has lived in Cornwall for many years) and this was what she wanted for her children and for others.

“Restoring a tradition where teddies were your best friend,
the one you give cuddles to, the one who shares your joy
and dry your tears”

With her mum and sister, she started designing patterns, researching wool and fleece suppliers.
It took a couple of months as she knew how to knit but wanted CE certification and to find the right suppliers. She found two great companies who sell organic wool, one based in Wales and the other one in Cornwall, 20 minutes away from her house. They are British producers and she feels that nowadays it is important to support people who produce quality and care for animals and people. The whole range is now Soil Association Certified and when dyes are used they are organic certified dyes. It’s a true family business and you can be reassured that Kathy wants the best for your children as she does for her own!

New Film Buff Baby T shirts from Twisted Twee!

Posted under Mimimyne eco friendly products news

I was so excited about these long sleeved organic cotton baby t shirts, I had to write about them straight away. These have not been available in organic cotton before and they’re absolutely brilliant; retro graphics referencing two fantastic films, Star Wars and Dirty Dancing. The boy’s T shirt reads “The Force is Strong in This One” while the girl’s reads “Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner”. Check them out!Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner

Kids.Modern was great! Here are some photos

Posted under Events Mimimyne

Last Sunday Mimimyne exhibited at Kids.Modern, where we met lots of kids and their parents and generally had a lovely time. The Paperpod Den, painted in a Magritte style with a blue sky, apple and bowler hat by my friend Amanda, a scenic painter, was a huge hit as was the Paperpod Aeroplane in the style of Juan Miro. Lots of children tried out the Splat Chair and spent a lot of time in our Den or drawing at the Little Genius tables belonging to Arash and Kelly’s stand next door (blackboard paint seems to be a theme at the show, we had our Chalkboards and Arash and Kelly had a whole blackboard stand where children could write and draw). The Teenytini range was also very popular on my stand.  I had time to nip upstairs to visit Suzi of Twisted Twee, who had brought all her funky kids and babies’ T-shirts, and I also admired the Billy Rocker cardboard rocking horse, the fantastic Shapemaker by Miller Goodman and the Iain Childs toy boxes from some of the other stands. There were great designers, a puppet show and a barbecue, it really was a perfect event for kids and families.

Bristol Twestival supports Charity:water

Posted under Events Mimimyne

Unfortunately Mimimyne won’t be able to go to this as I’m going to be very busy getting ready for Kids.Modern, but the Bristol Twestival looks like it’s going to be a fantastic affair for users of Twitter and social networks generally; the whole bash is in aid of charity:water and some great raffle prizes are on offer including (ahem) two bags made exclusively for Mimimyne by Carry-a-bag. We’re thrilled to be supporting this charitable event! If you’re in the Bristol area you should definitely go – it’s on the 12th of February.
